What is the most effective way to support TCKs who may be experiencing confused loyalties? Are there differences in the way TCKs in Egypt and China experience this challenge and therefore should be supported? Fellow cohort member, Renee Gian, and collaborated on this project in order to uncover answers to these questions in our action research project.
Merriam-Webster’s dictionary defines leadership as having the “capacity to lead." When I consider what it means to have the capacity, or ability, to lead within the realm of education, I wonder who might best fit the title of leader. Is it an inherent trait passed down from one leader to another, or is it a learned way of life that takes place in each one of us? Do I myself possess the skills necessary to be an effective leader? My philosophy of educational leadership has been a transformative process that began as early as my first school days and is still being molded today. As I delve deeper into this topic, I hope to shed more light on what I believe is having the capacity to lead in today’s educational environment.
