Domain 7: Advocating for student learning and the profession

Teacher leaders possess a very influential role in the lives of not only their students but in the world of education at large. Reformation efforts, changes in policy, and child advocacy are just a few ways in which teacher leaders lead the charge of making positive changes for students outside of the classroom.

Artifact 1: Technology in Schools

This video is meant to showcase some of my own ideas about technology integration within schools as a current school leader.

Artifact 2: AISE Instagram

In my new role as an assistant principal in my middle school, I saw a greater need to not only communicate what was happening in our school with the greater community, but to also celebrate it. In today's day and age, the use of social media has become a staple in spreading information. I created a school Instagram page where I post several updates a week that provide parents and students a window into our day-to-day. I also use the platform to spotlight our teachers so that parents can better know who's teaching their children and highlight exciting learning opportunities happenings within our walls.

Artifact 3: Student Trip Videos

In order to document as well as promote the amazing field trips my school offers, I have created highlight videos to share with our school community. In addition, I created a school promotional video which features some of our very own teacher leaders and gives stakeholders a greater sense of our school's mission and values. Videos make a wonderful tool for advocating as well as sharing with viewers.
